Darkness and Light

Description

This is an abandoned fountain. It can hardly be said that there is water flowing from the fountain. It is located in the center of Kapıkaya neighborhood. In this photograph, we played with the contrasts of black and white photography. In this way, we tried to capture a dramatic atmosphere in the photograph. One side is darkness, another side is light.

This black-and-white photograph captures a quiet rural setting featuring an old concrete structure in the foreground, possibly a water trough, with a thick hose draped over it. Vegetation has started reclaiming the surface, adding to its aged appearance. A dirt path to the right leads uphill toward a rustic wooden house with a tiled roof and chimney, partially hidden by surrounding bushes and trees. The scene conveys a sense of time’s passage and solitude, where nature gradually intertwines with man-made elements, creating a peaceful yet slightly abandoned atmosphere.
